Treatment FAQ’s

Q: My client has just found out she’s pregnant, can she still have an Eve Taylor Facial?

A: Yes, she can continue enjoying the benefits of Eve Taylor facials. This question arises regarding the use of essential oil. Our products with the higher concentration of essential oils are found in our massage blends both Pre-blended Massage Oils (Soothing, Revitalising, etc) and our Aromatic Serums (Soothing, Calming Ect). To follow the general “industry rule” avoid these products for the first trimester, instead choose from the following carrier oils (Sweet almond, Apricot kernel or Peach Kernel) After the first trimester we would recommend the use of Soothing Massage Oil or Soothing Aromatic Serum (No1) for face massage. All other facial products are absolutely safe to use.
During pregnancy, many changes are taking place in the body. One of these changes may be greater skin sensitivity so avoid using products that may be more stimulating, choose Micro-fine Exfoliant rather than Bio Cream Exfoliant. As your client progresses through the pregnancy she may find it difficult to find a comfortable position so have pillows and bolsters to support her. Also be aware the sense of smell may also be affected and what your client loved the smell of prior to her pregnancy may not be to her liking during this time.
By the way, if you, the therapist falls pregnant you can apply the same rules to yourself when giving treatments.

Q: Which Eve Taylor products can I use post micro-dermabrasion and which products can I recommend for home care use?

A: Following a micro-dermabrasion exfoliation we need to soothe and hydrate the skin. We recommend you apply a layer of Hyaluronic Acid Serum and then choose from Soothing Masque or Bio Masque (peel off).
Purifying Wash is a gel based cleanser many equipment manufacturers recommend at the start of the procedure. Ultra Soothing Toner, Refining Eye Gel, Ultra Soothing Moisture Cream, Seal & Protect Moisturising Lip Balm and Moisturising Solar Shield (SPF 25) can then complete the professional treatment.
To continue the soothing, anti-inflammatory effects at home recommend:
Ultra Soothing Cleanser, Ultra Soothing Toner, Refining Eye Gel, Ultra Soothing Moisture Cream, Seal & Protect Lip Moisturising Balm and Moisturising Solar Shield.

Q: I understandsome of your candles should no longer be used for massage, which ones can I use and which ones can I use only for the aroma?

A: For massage and aromatic purposes choose from; Relax & Self Indulgent, Inspiration & Exhilaration, Sensual & Exotic, Wild Fig & Grape, Lavender, Patchouli, Frankincense & Amber or Fruit Crush.
For aromatic purposes only choose from; Orange & Clove, Ylang Ylang, Winter Blend or Festivity.

Q: My client has a nut allergy and I see many of your products contain nut extracts are they safe to use on him?

A: Yes, our products are perfectly safe to use for nut allergy sufferers. We use a variety of plant oils many extracted from nuts. We only use purified nut oils that have been deodorised, winterised and refined deeming them devoid of protein particles, it’s the proteins that cause allergies, and safe to use on people with nut allergies.

Q: Which Eve Taylor products can I use during micro-current treatments?

A: There are many different micro-current machines on the market today using and each one uses different currents and techniques during the facial. However, there are common similarities with each device.
For the muscle re-educating (lifting or relaxing stage) Q10 Serum with Electro Gel or Refining Eye Gel over the top may be used. Probes can also be dipped into Q10 Serum throughout this stage. For product penetration (iontophoresis stage) the same products can be used. At the end of the treatment, protection stage, Timeline Response Serum may be used on areas of expression ageing (around the eyes and mouth) to reduce nerve activity and relax these tense areas, while Q10 Serum with the collagen stimulating peptides can be used elsewhere to further tone and firm the skin followed by appropriate toner, eye protection, moisturiser, SPF and lip balm.

Q: Which Eve Taylor serums can I use with my galvanic machine?

A: For desincrustation prior to extracts use Desincrustation Gel whipped into foam and applied to the congested areas and used on the negative (-) polarity.
For iontophoresis, product penetration, choose from Oxygen Response Serum, Pigment Response Serum, Sebum Response Serum, Q10 Serum, Hyaluronic Acid or Triple C depending on the clients skin type/condition. Follow with a layer of Electro Gel to act as a conducting medium ad use on the positive (+) polarity.

Q: Why can’t I use Regenerative Serum or Timeline Intensive with electrical equipment?

A: Regenerative Serum is a lipid based serum and so can’t be ionised. Timeline Intensive has a high silicone content which also can’t be ionised.

Q: Which body treatments can I offer a client who is pregnant?

A: We recommend relaxing, skin conditioning treatments as the ideal option to offer a client while she is pregnant.
From our Bodyline these products would be; Exfoliating Body Scrub with Aqua Mass, Anti-Stress Massage Oil (after the first trimester), Body Treatment Oil No10 (after the first trimester), and Cranberry Cream avoiding the “bump”. Followed by any of our body moisturisers to protect and hydrate the skin. Ice Tone Leg & Thigh Gel may also be used for those puffy ankles.
