Peel-off Masque Mixing & Application
Our peel-off masques are an amazing addition to the professional facial treatment and have multiple benefits and effects to give treatment room results.
These masques are a powder base which are mixed water to form a hydrocolloid gel which creates a film on the skins surface and strengthens the skins barrier function
Since the alginate mask is saturated with water it quickly restores skin hydration instantly improving appearance of fine lines, skin suppleness and radiant effect.
Soon after applying, the mask solidifies, following the contours of the face, it also traps heat between the mask and the skins surface which assists with the absorption process. The solidifying action also prevents the key ingredients oxidising or evaporating. The mask remains rubber like on the skin so it doesn’t cause any discomfort and peels off easily in a single layer. This solidifying effect also creates a firming sensation on the skin.
Alginate masks effectively revitalise and moisturise, improve circulation, firms loose skin, refines the pore size, lessen puffiness and calm down skin after aggressive skin treatments.
How to use:
When we apply the peel off masques, preparation is key.
After application of suitable Serum, prepare client by tucking tissues into the headband and place tissues at the side of the clients head – this is vital to ensure your towelling isn’t spoiled by any drips of the alginate masques as they can be time consuming to remove.
Dispense the contents of the Peel-off Masque sachet into a bowl such as Eve Taylor Flexible Bowl
Only once you are ready to apply the masque should you mix with liquid.
If using a face masque such as Bio Masque, Brightening Masque, Cryogenic Masque or Clarifying Masque, you should use 90ml of tepid liquid per full packet – this can be just water or for customisation use 45ml of water and 45ml of suitable Hydrolat.
If using Eye contour Masque or Lip Contour Masque use 30ml of tepid liquid per full packet – this can be water or for customisation, 15ml water and 15ml appropriate Hydrolat.
Apply immediately to face and neck area, or if using eye or lip masque, ensure they are applied over closed eyes and mouth. Ensure edges are thick and application is even.
Allow to set for 15 minutes and perform a scalp massage, shoulder massage or hand and arm massage.
After 15 minutes remove masque by loosening edges with fingertips and peel masque from forehead downwards.
Top tips:
Allow any excess masque to set in bowl before discarding. Do not wash the remnants of the masques into your sink as the setting nature of the alginate may block pipe work.
Our peel off masques are not generally suitable for clients who experience claustrophobia, ensure this is determined in the consultation, before mixing and application.
