Ro-accutane / Iso-tretinoin

My client has been prescribed Ro-accutane / Iso-tretinoin by their doctor, can Eve Taylor products be used on their skin?

As Ro-accutane / Iso-tretinoin is a very powerful medication we would recommend that a gentle hydrating approach is maintained.

The baseline products we would recommend would include Ultra Soothing Cleanser, Ultra Soothing Toner and Ultra Soothing Moisture Cream.

We strongly advise that exfoliation of any kind is avoided, even up to 3 months after the medication has stopped. This is due to the medication inhibiting sebaceous activity and making the skin become very dry, dehydrated and prone to hypersensitivity.

If the client has comedone activity and you wish to extract, then Pre Extraction Gel may be used on those target areas prior to extractions. As this product will have a drying action we would advise to rehydrate the skin afterwards with additional targeted products such as Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid and Soothing Masque.

Purifying Spot Gel may be used sparingly on any remaining breakouts.

We highly recommend to that our Daily Skin Defence SPF50 or Moisturising Solar Shield SPF25 is used in all daylight hours as the skin will be prone to photosensitivity. Seal & Protect Moisturising Lip Balm SPF10 may also be used to give protection against UV as well as nourish the lips which may potentially dry out and crack when using this medication.
